About the Museum
The Newberry Museum is a non-profit organization working to protect, present, preserve, and promote the ongoing history and heritage of Newberry County and College. The museum as an institution aims to positively impact Newberry County and College as a destination site which encourages heritage tourism and growth while promoting educational and cultural opportunities for individual enrichment and understanding.
Representing a unique relationship between the County of Newberry, the City of Newberry, Newberry College, and the Newberry County Historical and Museum Society, the museum is located in a historic building which has recently undergone extensive restoration by funding allocated through the 2016 Capital Project Sales Tax referendum.*
The Newberry Museum, a registered South Carolina charitable organization, received its tax-exempt status in December of 2014.
Featuring programming for adults and children alike, and exhibits ranging from military history, arts and entertainment, municipality history, and more, there is truly something for everyone. Come learn about Newberry County's history, and explore how you can be a part of its ongoing legacy!
