About the Event


The program will start with a presentation about “Soldiers’ Sewing Kits” — because sewing isn’t only “Women’s Work”.  Military men and boys sew too.  There will be a display of 18th century sewing notions and kits.


The workshop will teach participants how to attach a standard 4-hole button; learn a running stitch and hemming stitch and (time permitting) simple embroidery on a hoop.


The same workshop will be presented at 2 different times (11 am and 2 pm), for no more than 90 minutes. 

 Participants:  Ages 10 and older.  Children ages 10 - 12 must be accompanied by an adult.   Maximum of 10 people per session (adult and child count as 2).
