Call for Mill Artifacts and Stories!

Postcard, Newberry Cotton Mills (West End). 1920. The Newberry Museum Collection, 2023.0393.10

Coming soon! The Newberry Museum will be highlighting the rich history of Newbery County’s earliest cotton mills and the lives of those connected with them, through our next big exhibition opening August 9, 2025.

The four earliest cotton mills in Newberry County were: Newberry (West End), Mollohon, Oakland, and Glenn-Lowry. As we prepare for the upcoming exhibit, we wanted to reach out to the community and hear the stories about working in the cotton mills in Newberry County and about life in the mill villages. If you would like to share your story, your family’s story, or have items/photos, we would love to speak with you!

Please contact the museum directly via phone, email, or website.
