January 24, 2026
Ticketed Event
On Saturday, January 24, 2026 be a part of the first first milestone fundraiser supporting The Newberry Museum with A Wi’ Bit of History and Robert Burns, inspired by the Scots-Irish impact on Newberry County history!
It will be an evening full of celebrating Scottish cuisine and the world-renowned bard, Robert Burns. Enjoy traditional Scottish dishes such as haggis along with authentic music and poetry. The event promises a night of culture, flavor and fun.
The event will take place at The Old Newberry Hotel with the gathering beginning at 5:30 pm followed by the Burns Supper at 6:00 pm. Participate in the silent auction throughout the night.
Robert Burns (1759 - 1796), Scotland's national poet, is celebrated worldwide for his lyrical verses honoring love, nature, and Scottish life. Special guest, Gordon Hart traveling from Glasgow, has been invited to speak at the supper. Gordon is a celebrated Burns Supper speaker, known for his warm wit, sharp insight, and uncanny ability to make Robert Burns feel as fresh as a Friday night in Glasgow. His talks are a lively blend of history, humor, and heartfelt tribute - with just enough cheek to keep things interesting.
