Botanical Garden
est. 2024

Developed in partnership with the Nosegay Garden Club of Newberry, this installation was designed to expand the temporary exhibit entitled “The Toll of War” by showcasing medicinal plants whose properties were utilized during the mid-1800’s. The newly established Botanical Garden was the result of the vision and partnership between a Museum benefactor, Newberry’s Nosegay Garden Club, the Museum’s Executive Director, Museum staff, and the Board of Directors.
Opening Ceremony
Re-purposing the Museum’s courtyard with new outdoor furnishings and creating garden space to supplement and expand exhibit topics, the Botanical Garden is an inviting space which will serve as an outdoor classroom and a venue for expanded programming.

The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of The Newberry Museum are grateful to the Nosegay Garden Club and to the generous benefactor and supporters who have all served to make this expansion possible. The seed was planted, and the vision grew.
